Patricia Muggeridge is a New Zealand born artist, known for her abstract realism artworks. Her unique blend of whimsical beauty and the quest to discover her inner voice, has captured the imagination of art enthusiasts worldwide. Born in New Plymouth, a rural city located between the Tasman sea and the picturesque snow capped peaks of Mt Taranaki, Patricia experienced a life of adventure and creativity. Her passion for art began at an early age. Many winter days were spent painting and drawing. A nature girl at heart, Patricia’s intuitive expression to life, led her to journey with purpose.

  In 2000 she emigrated to Australia, with her husband and children. In 2012 Patricia was inspired to paint again. Her sense of curiosity awakened, as she searched deeper into her life’s purpose and identity through art. Patricia’s process begins with observing what is speaking to her heart. She aspires to communicate and connect the emotion and characteristic of the image that has captivated her attention. Each layer and brush stroke brings freedom and expressive form. Warm earth tones, sea blues, and symbolic mark making, carry the essence of her visionary style to the canvas, with beauty and care. Each layer is a composition of what feels harmonious to the subject, and completed with vibrant oils. This authentic intention enriches her work, resulting in artwork that is both thought-provoking and emotionally resonant.

Patricia is a graduate of the Milan Art Institute, her dream to become a Professional Artist now realised. She is an active member of the artistic community. Patricia has exhibited in two leading Brisbane art galleries and is preparing for more exhibitions in 2024. 

Patricia’s Studio is nestled amongst native bushland and exotic wildlife, in the subtropical region of Brisbane. Many birds and wallabies provide their unique sound and inspiration daily.
